Vol. 534 No. 3

Written Answers. - Irish Red Cross Society.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

102 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Defence the reasons new draft rules drawn up by the Irish Red Cross Society some years ago have not yet been approved by the International Red Cross in Geneva; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10417/01]

The Irish Red Cross Society is an autonomous body with full powers to manage and administer its affairs through its governing body, the central council. I do not get involved in the day to day running of its affairs and, as such, I am not in a position to comment on the new draft rules of the society.
