169 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the extra cost of delivering better local government and services in respect of each local authority area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11095/01]
The most up to date information available in respect of the cost of the provision of various services by each local authority is set out in the Local Authority Estimates 2000 Volume, a copy of which is available in the Oireachtas Library. It is estimated that the overall additional annual salary costs arising from the creation of the new senior management posts envisaged under the BLG programme is £15 million, exclusive of costs arising under the county/city development boards and separate reviews of finance and IT functions.
