Ceist:

55 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has received the report from the former Secretary of Roinn na Gaeltachta (details supplied) into the review of the circumstances of the release of a prisoner from County Roscommon who was subsequently convicted of the murder of a woman while on day release; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can inform the Deputy that I received the report to which he refers on 2 April 2001. I am at present considering the report and, as I have stated previously, I will make the report available to the House and to the victim's family following my consideration of the recommendations made.
