Vol. 535 No. 1

Written Answers - Employee Settlement.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

347 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if, further to a recent parliamentary question and due to the lack of clarity in the reply, he will indicate his proposals in relation to a settlement reached between an ex-employee of the South-Eastern Health Board (details supplied) and the board; the reasons this agreement is now being disputed by the South-Eastern Health Board; the further reason the financial amounts outlined in the agreement have not been paid; when the non-financial elements of the agreement will be implemented; the cost to date to the South-Eastern Health Board in legal fees or the amount of the estimated costs prior to taking the case; if it is the policy of the board or his Department to establish these costs before the case or to estimate the costs prior to taking the case; and if the case is taken on an open ended basis regardless of the cost. [12077/01]

I have asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to contact the Deputy directly on this matter.

I have already informed the Deputy that I have no function in the matter concerned as it is a function of local management.
