140 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the current position in relation to funding for a pier (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12473/01]
The pier in question is owned by Donegal County Council and its repair and maintenance is the responsibility of the local authority in the first instance.
My Department provided funding of £41,250 to Donegal County Council for works at the location in question in 2000. A proposal from Donegal County Council for repairs to the pier head is under consideration at present in the context of the fishery harbours development programme for 2001, in the light of the funding available for such works and overall national priorities.
