Vol. 535 No. 3

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

114 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a barium meal facility was not available for a patient at Roscommon County Hospital or at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, County Galway; the further reason for the delay in getting x-ray facilities at University College Hospital Galway and at Castlebar County Hospital; and if his attention has been drawn to the anxiety patients suffer while waiting for such x-rays. [12632/01]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of that board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
