Ceist:289 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will sanction additional funding to complete renovation works on the R251 road in County Donegal. [15057/01]

My Department has allocated a provision of £800,000 to Donegal County Council in 2001 for the R251 between Glenveagh and Dunlewey, known as the back of Errigal road, under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme. This is in addition to last year's payment of £1.65 million for the R251. It will be open to Donegal County Council to prioritise this road for further funding when submitting applications under the above scheme for 2002.
