Vol. 538 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

188 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the action he proposes to take to ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Waterford will get an appointment at the earliest possible date. [17684/01]

The Deputy will appreciate that the scheduling of hospital appointments is a matter for the relevant hospital concerned based upon clinical priority. I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer at the South-Eastern Health Board which has responsibility for the provision of hospital services in the case to which the Deputy is referring, to look into the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
