Ceist:203 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if an assessment has been carried out by his Department on the level of use by consultants of publicly funding equipment in public hospitals for private use. [17717/01]
Written Answers. - Hospital Equipment.
No such assessment has been undertaken by my Department. It would not be a function of the Department of Health and Children to conduct such an assessment. The effective, appropriate and efficient use of hospital equipment is a matter for the hospitals themselves in the provision of health services.
