80 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs when the task force on policy regarding emigrants which was promised in the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness will be established; when it is likely to report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17790/01]
In the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness the Government is committed to establishing a task force to develop a coherent long-term approach to our emigrants and their needs. To ensure that the task force is effective and successful, some care and deliberation is necessary in framing terms of reference and selecting members. I intend to put specific proposals to the Government as soon as possible. I envisage the task force completing its work within a year of its establishment.
