Vol. 539 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Returns.

Pat Carey

Ceist:

197 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Finance if he will assist a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11 in obtaining a P60 from a company which is no longer in operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18926/01]

Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy): I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has tried unsuccessfully to contact the taxpayer's former employer. A P35 for the 1999-2000 tax year has not been received from the employer. The inspector does not, therefore, have any information about the amounts of income tax and PRSI that were deducted from the taxpayer's earnings by her former employer during that year. The inspector has requested Revenue's employer control section to try to establish the current status of the company and, if possible, to obtain a P60 for the taxpayer.
