81 Mr. Daly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the progress which has been achieved to date on the registration, inspection and approval procedures of the national beef assurance scheme; when this work will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The registration, inspection and approval of farmers under the national beef assurance scheme will commence shortly. The position is that the application form, guidelines and inspection report have been finalised. These papers are now being printed, following which copies will be issued to all herd owners. The inspection will take place as part of the annual TB and brucellosis testing programmes.
