Until the full complement of radiographers in the Merrion and Eccles units has been reached it is not possible to state when women in any county will receive an invitation for screening. An active recruitment programme for radiographers is currently under way in the national press. It is the objective of BreastCheck to ensure that all women in the catchment area will receive an invitation within a two year timescale.
BreastCheck's population register is compiled utilising data on eligible women from the VHI, GMS and the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs. The programme also promotes a self-registration campaign.
