Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - Breeding Bulls.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

195 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when the restrictions regarding the use of bulls for breeding purposes will be lifted. [19623/01]

The prohibition on the movement of bulls for breeding purposes was lifted on 2 May last. The arrangements currently in place for the movement of bulls for breeding purposes apply equally to all cattle, viz., a permit is required for farm-to-farm sales and there must be a 30 day break between each sale.
