Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - Roads Funding.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

309 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received a submission from Cork County Council regarding additional funding for non-national roads; if so, if he has considered this document; if additional funds will be made available to Cork County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19581/01]

Allocations for 2001 in relation to the non-national roads programme, including the restoration programme, have been fully made to all local authorities. These allocations reflect a record level of funding provision and will not normally be subject to adjustment during this financial year.

A submission from Cork County Council dated 10 May 2001 seeking additional funding under the restoration programme is at present being examined in my Department. My Department will respond to the council as soon as possible.
