Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Ceist:

343 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of schemes for housing before his Department and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Council for approval; when each such application was lodged; when a decision will be made in each such application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19991/01]

At present, there are no local authority housing schemes from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council awaiting approval in my Department.

Revised proposals for the redevelopment of a halting site at Burton Hall, Leopardstown Avenue were received on 25 June 2001 and are currently under examination in my Department. An application in respect of ten units of accommodation under the voluntary housing capital assistance scheme was received on 25 May 2000. I understand that the local authority is seeking to ascertain if part funding will be available from the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

In addition, an application for funding for six units under the voluntary housing capital assistance scheme was received on 1 June 2001. I hope to issue a decision in this case shortly.
