Written Answers. - Swimming Pool Projects.
In relation to the pool proposal for Youghal, additional documentation has been received from the council in connection with the preliminary report, which is now being considered by our technical advisors. Subject to the satisfactory completion of this stage of the process, consideration will then be given to approval of the preliminary report, thus allowing the council to proceed to the next stage, that is, preparation of detailed contract documents.
There are four stages in a swimming pool project – preliminary report stage, contract document stage, tender stage and construction stage. The Department's technical advisors evaluate each stage and local authorities cannot proceed to the next stage of a project, unless prior approval issues from the Department.
