Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Tony Killeen

Ceist:

479 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in approving capital works sought by the Board of Management of Kilkishen national school, County Clare; when approval will issue for works (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19784/01]

The building unit of my Department has no record of having received an application for grant aid towards improvement works at Kilkishen national school, County Clare. I have arranged for officials of my Department to contact the school authorities to discuss the issue with them.

Ceist:

480 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education and Science when approval to construct additional permanent classroom accommodation, a general purpose room and other rooms will issue to the board of management of Kilmurry national school, Ennis, County Clare; the reason this accommodation was not provided when the school was extended; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19785/01]

My Department is currently considering the most cost effective way of providing suitable accommodation at Kilmurry national school. However, in view of the large number of school building projects currently being processed by my Department, it is not possible at this point to give an indication as to the timetable for the provision of the facilities.
