Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - Mobility Management Plans.

Ceist:

123 Dr. Upton asked the Taoiseach the steps he has taken to implement the mobility management plans for staff commuting to his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19538/01]

The Dublin Transportation Office is at present carrying out a survey of some 3,500 organisations in order to acquire vital information on travel patterns in Dublin. This information will now be used to assist that office in the development and implementation of the planned transport investment programme for Dublin. To assist in this survey, staff of my Department completed questionnaires which were returned two weeks ago. I welcome the DTO survey and support their efforts to ensure a more efficient movement of people and goods throughout Dublin. In addition my Department operates flexible working hours which can stagger movement of traffic during peak periods, and accommodate to some extent personal needs of staff.
