Ceist:255 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will consider extending Luas to Bray, County Wicklow; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [22484/01]
Written Answers. - Light Rail Project.
The Dublin Transportation Office has proposed in its strategy for the greater Dublin area, "A Platform for Change 2000-2016", upgrading to metro status the Luas line from the city centre to Sandyford as part of the development of a metro system that would run from Swords to Shanganagh. This would interchange with the DART at Shanganagh. The interim Railway Procurement Agency is at present examining the DTO metro proposals. I expect a report on the matter before the end of the year.
