Ceist:

133 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will consider setting up a Garda drug unit in every town with a population in excess of 10,000 people; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22274/01]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue):

I am informed by the Garda authorities that each Garda division throughout the country has an established Garda drug unit to deal with drug issues. These units are supplemented by personnel from the Garda National Drugs Unit in particular cases.
