122 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if he has in the past four and a half years appointed to any State or semi-State board or agency, any executive or employee of consultancy firms or public relations firms which have previously benefited from contracts issued by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In the time available to prepare a reply to this question, I have been able to identify one individual who was paid consultancy fees for services provided for my Department. I appointed this person to a State board prior to the payments being made by my Department. Mr. Jim Nugent, a former managing director of Woodgrange Consultants Limited, was appointed to the board of the Central Bank on 12 February 1998. Woodgrange produced The Irish Times Business publication for 2000 and 2001 to which the Department of Finance has contributed case studies.
