74 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the Voice initiative in the British national health service aimed at giving communities an effective say in their local NHS; and if he has considered a similar initiative here. [25508/01]

I am aware of the initiative, Voice, to which the Deputy refers and which is aimed at giving the patient a greater input at all levels of the national health service in the UK. I am addressing the issue of patient input to the Irish health system in the context of the new national health strategy.
