A capitation rate of £345 (438.06) per annum will be payable to a general practitioner for persons aged 70 years or over on his list in the community requiring a medical card for the first time regardless of income.
A capitation rate of £500 (634.87) per annum (or £10 per week) will be payable to general practitioners for persons aged 70 years or over in a private nursing home (approved by a Health Board) for a continuous period in excess of 5 weeks.
The payments specified above referring to the capitation rates for persons aged 70 years and over or any other GMS scheme agreement will not be applicable in respect of any medical card holder in a State medical, nursing or care facility where medical services are provided in house.
