111 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received the report on the future of radiotherapy treatment for cancer patients; if he had received cost projections ahead of the final report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27408/01]
The work of the expert group on the development of radiotherapy services is at an advanced stage. Because of the importance and complexity of the work, it is not possible to give an exact date for its report, but it is anticipated that its work will be completed before the end of the year.
The expert group has identified estimated capital requirements to my Department prior to completion of the final report. A more detailed consideration of funding requirements will be undertaken by my Department on receipt of the final report and in the context of a complete examination of its final recommendations.
