196 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the number, type and nationality of foreign civilian aircraft carrying military personnel and/or equipment which have landed at airports here in August, September, October and to date in November 2001; and the destination of these aircraft. Civilian flights carrying military personnel and-or equipment transit the State airports, particularly Shannon on a regular basis. These aircraft movements are categorized under the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organisation as commercial non-scheduled transit movements and as such do not require Government permission.
