385 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the sections of the Electoral Act, 2001 which have been brought into effect; when the remaining sections will be brought into operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27925/01]
Most provisions of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 2001, have been commenced or are scheduled for early commencement under the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 2001 (Commencement) Order, 2001, made on 1 November 2001. The commencement of remaining provisions will be considered in the light of subsequent court decisions, more recent legislation and other factors.
