Vol. 544 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

89 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if a refund of tax is due to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28440/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the tax office records indicate that the taxpayer paid the correct amount of income tax in the 2000-01 tax year, i.e. the year ended 5 April 2001. The inspector has sent a return of income form to the taxpayer. She should complete the form and return it to the inspector who will then be in a position to determine if a refund may be due.

If the taxpayer considers that she may be due a refund of tax which she has paid in the current tax year, she should contact the inspector. To determine whether a refund may be due, the inspector will need information about her income, including social welfare income, if any, since 6 April, 2001.
