Vol. 544 No. 4

Written Answers. - Minimum Notice Compensation Awards.

David Stanton

Ceist:

117 Mr. Stanton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when the payment regarding minimum notice entitlement will be made to the former workers of a company (details supplied) in County Cork; the amounts involved; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [29145/01]

With the exception of four claims which are subject to further queries, all the claims received in my Department in respect of minimum notice compensation awards have been processed under the insolvency payments scheme and the moneys issued to the liquidator, who is responsible for distributing the relevant amount to each claimant.

The total amount paid in respect of these awards was just over £687,000, with individual employees receiving amounts ranging from £140 to £3,200.
