Vol. 544 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

123 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason full payment has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29461/01]

The person named applied for special beef premium on 12 January 2001 for animal tag numbers 271533320024, 271608640031, 271615210012, 271616690030, 271617620030, 271549580024, and 271549590025 as part of an application involving a total of 54 animals.

At the time of application these animals were too young for the second age premium and were correctly assigned into the first age category. As the animals had previously drawn the first age premium, they were deleted from the herd owner's application, but counted for stocking density purposes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant EU regulations. These details were communicated to the person named on 6 February 2001.

The person named made a subsequent application on 26 April 2001 for the seven animals. They were correctly assigned into the second age category and payment on these animals issued on 26 October 2001.
