Ceist:177 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in the payment of a rebate of tax to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when this rebate will be made. [29671/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has no record of having received an application for a rebate of tax from the taxpayer. The inspector has sent a return of income form – Form 12 – to the taxpayer. He should complete the form and return it to the inspector who will then review the taxpayer's tax liability and refund any overpaid tax.
