Ruairí Quinn

Ceist:

33 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the timetable for the implementation of the national hazardous waste management strategy published by the Environmental Protection Agency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31121/01]

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 83 and 131 of 6 November 2001. It is intended that invitations to participate on the proposed implementation committee will issue to relevant interests within the next week or so. Otherwise, the position is unchanged.

Question No. 34 answered with Question No. 24.

Ceist:

35 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his assessment of the implications for local authority finances and for the waste management system of the recent decision of the Supreme Court that local authorities may no longer refuse to collect waste from householders who have refused to pay waste charges; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31101/01]

I refer to the reply to Question No. 158 of 5 December 2001.
