154 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason it has taken three years for his Department to transfer a herd number to a person (detail supplied) in County Galway; when all grants owing to this person for the past three years will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31886/01]
In this case the main reason for the delay in transferring the herd number is that my Department has been awaiting clarification of the ownership and use of the land concerned. When the required clarification is provided, the Department will be in a position to transfer the herd number and subsequently the outstanding livestock grant payments claimed by the applicant can be processed.
