345 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will consider assigning five clerical officers to Maynooth Garda Station, Maynooth, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31852/01]
No application has been received by my Department for additional clerical officer posts in Maynooth Garda Station. My Department is obliged to operate within the authorised number of civilian staff sanctioned by the Department of Finance for the Garda area. Consequently, neither my Department nor the Garda Síochána are at liberty to create additional civilian posts without specific sanction.
