115 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will consider her Department arranging research on the Battle of Clontarf in 1014 in order to establish actual details of the battle; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [31745/01]

Historical research into the Battle of Clontarf does not fall within the remit of the National Museum of Ireland, which is under the aegis of my Department. Accordingly, the Deputy will appreciate that my Department has no plans to initiate the research suggested.
