Vol. 546 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Funding.

Ceist:

94 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding applications for funding by an organisation (details supplied). [32034/01]

Funding for voluntary and community organisations is mainly provided through the health boards. Organisations may apply directly to their local health board for funding or alternatively they may apply to my Department for lottery funding. There is no record in my Department of an application for funding for the project referred to by the Deputy. I have asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to ascertain whether an application for funding has been received by the Eastern Regional Health Authority or the relevant area health board and to reply directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

95 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide funding towards the running costs of the Centre for Victims of Institutional Abuse in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32040/01]

I have been informed by the Southern Health Board that a cheque will issue to the centre on Friday, 14 December 2001.
