240 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí on the beat at a given time day or night in the various towns and villages in north Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32438/01]
I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel and resources to individual areas, that, for operational reasons, it is not the practice to give details of the number of gardaí on duty at a given time.
The current personnel strength of relevant Garda districts in Kildare as at 1 December 2001 is as set out as follows:
