Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Military Medical Facility.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

232 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence his plans for the future of the military medical facility at Collins Barracks, Cork; and if he will meet a delegation from the Army Nursing Service stationed there at an early date. [1236/02]

The position as regards the military medical facility at Collins Barracks, Cork, is as described in my previous reply of 3 October 2001. The concerns of members of the Army Nursing Service in Cork are among the issues on the agenda of a meeting to take place shortly between officials of my Department's conciliation and arbitration branch and the Irish Nurses Organisation, which represents Army Nursing Service personnel. The industrial relations process provides an appropriate means for discussing such issues and I do not consider that any purpose would be served by my agreeing to meet a delegation of Army Nursing Service in advance of that meeting.
