Ceist:794 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will provide finances for the extension of the Lough Leane catchment management project. [2520/02]

No proposals have been made to my Department for additional funding for the continued operation of the Lough Leane water quality monitoring and management project which was scheduled to conclude in July 2001. If any such proposals are made they will be considered in the context of the development of a comprehensive river basin management project for the south west.
