1227 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science his proposals for making grant aid available to the Special School Ábalta, 62 Windfield Gardens, Knocknacarra, County Galway; if funds will be made available for the running of this special school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1754/02]
The issue raised by the Deputy is the subject of detailed discussions between officials of my Department, the National Educational Psychological Service and representatives of the Ábalta project.
A further meeting with the parents involved has been arranged for 7-8 February, 2002. I am hopeful that these discussions will lead to a positive outcome so that the necessary supports can be put in place as speedily as possible.
