Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Crawford – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to ensure the maintenance of vital services at Monaghan General Hospital; (2) Deputy Broughan – the need to grant a foreshore licence for the second stage of the Baldoyle flood relief scheme; (3) Deputy Shatter – the need to sanction new classrooms for St. Colmcille's, Knocklyon; (4) Deputy Healy – the need for the implementation of the legal entitlement of elderly persons to in-patient services in nursing homes, as outlined in the report to the Oireachtas by the Ombudsman, January 2001; (5) Deputy Dukes – the postponement of the opening date of the fishing season for 2002 from 1 March to 17 March because of the presence of salmonids in our rivers; (6) Deputy Connaughton – the introduction of revised criteria for area aid; (7) Deputy Perry – the need to carry out improvement works at Réalt na Mara national school, Rosses Point, County Sligo; (8) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the need to address enhanced subvention for nursing homes in the Southern Health Board area in view of the lengthening waiting lists for this payment; and (9) Deputy Coveney – the plans for the future of the Jeannie Johnston ship.

The matters raised by Deputies Connaughton, Crawford, Broughan and Coveney have been selected for discussion.
