165 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the measures being taken to speed up the three month turn around time for cervical smear testing in the National Maternity Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5028/02]

The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available. My Department has therefore written to the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health authority seeking a report on the issue. This information will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
