Vol. 549 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Development Plan.

Cecilia Keaveney

Ceist:

190 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the advantages under his Department's remit that have accrued to County Donegal and the north west region arising from the Objective One designation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6040/02]

Donegal's continued Objective One status for structural funds purposes, as part of the Border, midland and western region, has enabled my Department to pursue a strong programme of investment in economic and social infrastructure in the county under the national development plan. During 2000 and 2001, investment totalling €44.076 million has taken place in the county with the assistance of European Regional Development Fund and Cohesion funding from the EU. Details of this investment are shown in the table below. This programme of investment will continue during the lifetime of the national development plan.
