Vol. 549 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

113 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of public nursing home beds in the Northern Area Health Board; the number of these which are currently occupied; the number of contract beds at the disposal of the Northern Area Health Board; the number of these which are occupied; the number of persons on the public waiting list for a nursing home bed in the Northern Area Health Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of health services in Dublin rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to her directly.

Ceist:

115 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children the public nursing home bed and the contract nursing home bed to population ratios over 60 years in each of the ten health board areas, based on Central Statistic Office estimates as at 31 January 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 114 and 115 together.
