Vol. 549 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

450 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received representations from parents in an area (details supplied) in County Kerry whose children attended an English speaking national school, who are now being asked to pay additional charges for school transport to a secondary school; his views on the additional charges in this case; his response to the representations made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6773/02]

Representations have been received from families in the area referred to by the Deputy. In view of the circumstances of the case, I asked the school transport section of my Department to investigate the matter. The Deputy will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.
