I propose to take Questions Nos. 126 and 127 together.
I have recently announced a non-national road grant allocation of over €12.143 million in 2002 for South Dublin County Council. This represents an increase of 68% on the council's 2001 allocation, 135% on the 2001 payment and almost 161% on the 1997 payment.
The council's revised submission for 2002, under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme, included applications for the Greenhills Road realignment scheme and the green route/Ballyboden Road Grange Road scheme. The Knocklyon Road scheme was not included in the council's revised submission.
These applications, together with all other applications under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme were considered in my Department having regard to compliance with the eligibility criteria, the need to prioritise projects, competing demands from other local authorities and the funding available for the scheme.
