792 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding St. Patrick's national school, Greystones, County Wicklow which will have 208 students on its roll next year but which has been informed that it will lose a teacher because there is a shortfall of one pupil; if, in view of the circumstances, the teacher will be kept on; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 889 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding St. Patrick's national school, Greystones, County Wicklow who have been informed that they will lose a teacher in September due to a shortfall of one pupil; if, in view of the fact that the school envisages that it will have in excess of the required number by September, the teacher can be kept on; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 792, 793 and 889 together.

I have requested an official of my Department to visit the school referred to and submit a report on the enrolment numbers and staffing position. I will advise the board of management of the position as soon as the report is examined.
