217 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance the names of the persons and delegations who have stayed in Farmleigh House; the number and type of function held there; the numbers attending those functions, and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9708/02]

The following have stayed at Farmleigh – the Chinese Prime Minister, Mr. Zhu Rongjhi, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Valda Adamkus, the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body co-chaired by Deputy O'Kennedy and Mr. David Winnick MP, Mr. Halldor Blodal, Speaker of the House, Parliament of Iceland, Mr. Zozef Migas, Chairman of the Slovak Parliament, the German Federal Minister Eichel, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Meles Zenawi, and their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.

As part of staying at Farmleigh the above delegations would have held various meetings and had breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The following are the number and type of function and the numbers attending each function at Farmleigh – ten high level departmental meetings and conferences with 10, 16, 22, 18, 9, 37, 9, 16, 10, 85 attendees respectively, with associated tea or coffee refreshments and lunches; seven formal dinners with 100, 20, 14, 30, 8, 30, 12 attendees, and over 100 special interest tours with groups ranging on average from 15 to 50. A further eight public open days facilitated access to Farmleigh house and grounds to approximately 32,000 visitors.
