Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

423 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if and when a holiday visa to visit here will issue to a person (details supplied) in Thailand; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10003/02]

The visa application in question was refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of a visit visa. In particular it was felt that the applicant had not had displayed sufficient evidence of her obligations to return home following her proposed visit. An appeal against the refusal was received, but having re-examined the application, the visa appeals officer upheld the original decision.
