523 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science the communication he had with University College Cork and the involvement his Department had in the appeal by University College Cork against the decision of the Labour Court to concede an equal pay claim to security staff in University College Cork and to appeal it to the High Court. Officials from my Department were involved in consultations with representatives of University College Cork, the Higher Education Authority and the Department of Finance on the issue of an appeal to the High Court on this matter. It was the unanimous view of these parties that this matter should be appealed to the High Court.
